Beyoncé is digging further into her southern roots with the title of her upcoming country album, Cowboy Carter.

The 42-year-old Houston native shared the news on Instagram, first putting the headline to her page before removing it and adding it to her Instagram Stories. The accompanying image shows a brown and silver horse saddle with a “Cowboy Carter” sash on top of it.

As previously mentioned, the album will be released on March 29.

In a 2024 Super Bowl ad for Verizon, Bey claimed that she’d be going country for the next album, and the singles “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” were released on streaming sites immediately afterwards. Her most attentive admirers caught some signs about her new path during her 2024 Grammys appearance, when she wore country-inspired clothing from Pharrell’s current LV menswear collection, complete with a white cowboy bonnet.

Dolly Parton, a country music star, has also complimented Bey on the switch, writing on Instagram, “I’m a big fan of Beyonce and very excited that she’s done a country album.” Congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number-one single. “Can’t wait to hear the whole album!”

Dolly Parton gushes over Beyoncé amid “Jolene” remake rumors.
Days later, Parton stoked anticipation that the Destiny’s Child star will cover one of her biggest hits, “Jolene.”

“Well, I think she has!” the 78-year-old exclaimed, referring to Beyoncé’s remake of the 1973 classic. “I think she’s recorded ‘Jolene’ and I think it’s probably gonna be on her country album, which I’m very excited about that.” She continued to compliment Knowles, exclaiming, “I love her!” and describing her as “a beautiful girl and a great singer.”
