A new law course on Florida rapper Rick Ross is being offered by Georgia State University College of Law.
The course, titled “The Legal Life of Rick Ross,” is the newest part of the “Legal Life of…” program, which examines public figures and their legal encounters. The training will concentrate on Ross’ criminal background, which dates back to his adolescence.
The course is intended to prepare future lawyers who want to work as defense attorneys for public individuals.

Ross was arrested in Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Georgia on drug possession, kidnapping and assault, and firearms charges, according to multiple reports.
He has also been sued in a number of jurisdictions, which will be covered in the law course.
Former drug kingpin “Freeway” Ricky Ross sued the rapper in California in June 2010 for profiteering on his name.

“It’s like owning a restaurant, you’re going to have a few slip and falls,” Ross said of the case at the time. You are sued, you deal with them, and you get them out of the way… occasionally you lose.”

The court found in favor of the rapper on December 30, 2013, allowing him to maintain the moniker Rick Ross.
In 2011, rapper Teflon Don sued Ross for trademark infringement for utilizing his name in an album title.
