Metallica Closing In On UK Number 1 Album With 72 Seasons

The band Metallica is nearing the release of its first UK number-one record since 2008.

The heavy metal band’s 11th studio album, “72 Seasons,” is claimed to be doing so well this week that they are 26,000 sales ahead of The Weeknd, who has his 2021 album, “The Highlights,” as their closest chart competition.

Metalica are “absolutely flying with ’72 Seasons’ and ecstatic at the reception to the record in the UK,” a source told the Bizarre section of The Sun newspaper.

It means a lot to them because this will be their first UK No. 1 record since 2008.

If the band, made up of Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo, climbs to the top of the UK albums chart, it will be their fourth time there.

The band’s first 18 years of existence—18 springs, 18 summers, 18 autumns, and 18 winters—are referenced in the title “72 Seasons.”

When he was 18 years old, Metallica drummer Lars acknowledged being “a bit of a loner,” but that experience encouraged him to form a band.

I was an only child and a little bit of a loner, he admitted to the magazine.

“I wasn’t particularly awkward, but I struggled with abandonment and a sense of never belonging.

“I started a band for that reason. I was looking for a sense of belonging and comfort in being in a group.

Lars maintains that the group is “still outsiders” despite the fact that they are now considered as one of the most important and successful heavy metal bands in history.

“We’ve spent the last 40 years teetering on the edge of acceptance,” he remarked. We remain strangers.

There are many similarities between me and the other band members when I consider my formative years, my school experiences, and my coming-of-age experiences.
