One of the more difficult aspects of traveling these days is being able to access the applications you want while on the fly.

For some time now, certain hotels have provided Chromecast support. IHG Hotels and Resorts is now offering AirPlay in select locations. Cord cutters may now seamlessly cast videos from their phone or tablet to their TVs in approved hotels.

According to IHG, AirPlay is now available in over 60 hotels across North America, with more on the way in the coming months.

According to Apple, “Users can automatically connect to the compatible LG hotel TV in their guest room and the hotel’s Wi-Fi network by scanning a unique QR code on the screen.” Once linked, visitors can share practically anything on their hotel room’s huge screen using their iPhone or iPad. Guests can also connect several devices to the television, allowing friends and loved ones traveling together to enjoy.”

AirPlay in hotels requires an iPhone XS or later running iOS 17.3 or later, or an iPad (6th generation or later), iPad mini (5th generation or later), iPad Air (3rd generation or later), 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation or later), 10.5-inch iPad Pro, or 11-inch iPad Pro (1st generation or later) running iPadOS 17.3 or later.
