Paramount has just announced that its SHOWTIME TV Network will undergo a rebranding and will now be known as Paramount+ along with SHOWTIME.
Earlier this year, it was announced that the SHOWTIME streaming apps will be discontinued and integrated into the Paramount+ app. Additionally, the TV Network will undergo a rebranding process to incorporate programming from Paramount+.
The upcoming network will broadcast a range of SHOWTIME Original series, such as A GENTLEMAN IN MOSCOW, THE DEPARTMENT (executive-produced by George Clooney), and THE WOMAN IN THE WALL. Additionally, it will feature acclaimed and influential SHOWTIME hits like FELLOW TRAVELERS, THE CHI, THE CURSE, YELLOWJACKETS, and YOUR HONOR, among others. Additionally, following the network’s relaunch, Paramount+ programming, such as HALO (Season 1), Taylor Sheridan’s MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN (Seasons 1-2), STAR TREK: DISCOVERY (Seasons 1-4), WOLF PACK (Season 1), and other shows, will also be shown.

The rebranding is scheduled for January 8, 2024. On that specific date, SHOWTIME will undergo a transformation and be rebranded as Paramount+ alongside its existing SHOWTIME content.

A GENTLEMAN IN MOSCOW (SHOWTIME Original Series)

A GENTLEMAN IN MOSCOW depicts the story of Count Alexander Rostov (Ewan McGregor), who, following the Russian Revolution, realizes that his privileged background puts him in opposition to the prevailing historical narrative. Instead of being immediately executed, he is sentenced by a Soviet tribunal to live in a small room in the luxurious Hotel Metropol. He is warned that if he ever leaves the hotel, he would be killed. Over the years, amidst the turbulent decades in Russian history, Rostov’s diminished circumstances allow him to explore a broader realm of emotional experiences. While establishing a fresh existence within the confines of the hotel, he unearths the genuine significance of companionship, kinship, and affection.
The Department, executive produced by George Clooney, is a television series that is adapted from the captivating French show Le Bureau. It focuses on the daily activities and assignments of agents working for France’s main foreign security agency. The show centers around the “Bureau of Legends,” which is tasked with training and managing covert operatives for extended missions in regions of French significance. These agents, who have assumed false identities for an extended period of time, are tasked with carrying out operations to ascertain and enlist reliable sources of intelligence.
The title of the show is “The Woman in the Wall” and it is an original production by SHOWTIME.

THE WOMAN IN THE WALL features Ruth Wilson, a renowned BAFTA® and Golden Globe® Award winner known for her roles in THE AFFAIR and His Dark Materials. Wilson also serves as an executive producer for the show. The series also stars Daryl McCormack, a BAFTA Award nominee recognized for his performances in Good Luck to You, Leo Grande and Peaky Blinders. The story revolves around Lorna Brady (played by Wilson), a resident of the fictional Irish town of Kilkinure, who discovers a dead body in her home one morning. She has endured persistent episodes of severe sleepwalking since her confinement at the age of 15 in The Kilkinure Convent, a (fictional) institution known for its notorious Magdalene Laundries for women in Ireland. Detective Colman Akande (McCormack) is currently pursuing Lorna for a crime that appears to have no connection to the death she found in her house. Unexpectedly, their paths intersect in unforeseen ways.
The cast of the series includes Simon Delaney (known for his role in The Conjuring 2), Philippa Dunne (from The Nevers), Mark Huberman (from Band of Brothers), Hilda Fay (from Float Like a Butterfly), Frances Tomelty (from The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard), and Dermot Crowley (from Luther: The Fallen Sun). The Woman in the Wall is a television series produced by Motive Pictures for SHOWTIME and The BBC. It is created and written by Joe Murtagh, who has been nominated for a BAFTA Award for his work on Calm with Horses. Furthermore, the series is overseen by Simon Maxwell (known for his work on Get Millie Black and Deep State), Sam Lavender (renowned for his involvement in Saint Maud and The Lobster), Murtagh Wilson (credited for Mrs. Wilson and True Things), and Harry Wootliff (noted for his contributions to True Things).

Bokeem Woodbine, known for his work in Fargo, Shabana Azmi, known for her role in Fire, Natasha Culzac, known for her role in The Witcher, Olive Gray, known for her role in Half Moon Investigations, Yerin Ha, known for her role in Reef Break, Bentley Kalu, known for his role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Kate Kennedy, known for her role in Catastrophe, Charlie Murphy, known for her role in Peaky Blinders, Danny Sapani, known for his role in PENNY DREADFUL, Joseph Morgan, known for his roles in Vampire Diaries and The Originals, and Cristina Rodlo, known for her role in No One Gets Out of Here Alive. HALO is created by SHOWTIME in collaboration with 343 Industries and Amblin Television. David Wiener, along with Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank, and Justin Falvey from Amblin Television, serves as executive producers for the second season of HALO. Kiki Wolfkill holds the position of executive producer at Xbox/343 Industries alongside Otto Bathurst, Toby Leslie, and Gian Paolo Varani from One Big Picture.
