Leonardo DiCaprio Has Been Nominated For An Oscar For His 'Best Ever' Performance In Killers Of The Flower Moon

Leonardo DiCaprio is expected to win an Oscar for his portrayal in Killers of the Flower Moon, which admirers praise as his “best ever.”

The Martin Scorsese picture is in theaters worldwide starting today (20 October), with many people coming to watch it on opening day.

The official synopsis for the film reads: “Members of the Osage tribe in northeastern Oklahoma are murdered under mysterious circumstances in the 1920s, sparking a major BOI (which became the FBI in 1935) investigation directed by a 29-year-old J. Edgar Hoover and former Texas Ranger Tom White.”

In the western drama, Leonardo DiCaprio plays Ernest Burkhart, while Robert De Niro plays William Hale.

And, according to those who have seen the new film, the pair have provided acting masterclasses.

The majority of fans, however, are praising DiCaprio’s performance as Ernest, with many coming to social media to shout his praises.

One admirer said on X, then known as Twitter, “Just got out of Killers of the Flower Moon and WOW.” It’s probably my favorite film of 2023.

“It’s a work of art in filmmaking and storytelling.” I truly adore the film. Leonardo DiCaprio’s acting is truly outstanding, and I can see him winning an Oscar. You perceive all emotions, including tears.”

A couple of seconds later, it was “Yeahhhhhh Dicaprio, Gladstone and De Niro about to sweep the Oscars.”

“The performances by Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone were breathtaking,” said a third.

“I’d be surprised if all three do not even get an Oscar nomination, especially Gladstone’s whether it’s leading or supporting actress.”

Many industry critics have praised DiCaprio and Killers of the Flower Moon, and fans are not alone in their enthusiasm.

Killers of the Flower Moon now has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 93 percent based on over 200 reviews.

According to Manuela Lazic of The Ringer, “Martin Scorsese’s three-hour Western features a throwback performance from Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio at his best in a film that mirrors aspects of classics like Goodfellas.”
