Many of you are aware that Pete Davidson’s father sadly died on 9/11, which became a prominent element in his semi-autobiographical film The King of Staten Island, but he has also previously spoken up about the heartbreaking way he found out.
Pete, 29, lost his 33-year-old firefighter father Scott in the 9/11 attacks in New York, in which terrorists crashed two commercial airplanes into the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers.
A third plane also collided with the Pentagon, and a fourth, United Airlines Flight 93, crashed in Pennsylvania when passengers fought back.
The attacks killed approximately 3,000 people and injured tens of thousands more.

Pete’s father was among those killed when the call came in on September 11, 2001.
He responded to the call after a second hijacked airliner struck the World Trade Center, according to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
“Scott’s acts of heroism are not surprising,” according to the website.
“He was a brave and fearless man, as well as a devoted patriot.” He was many people’s buddy, and he will be dearly missed by all of us.”

“Materialistic things were not important to Scott,” it continues. Scott was mainly concerned about his two children, Peter, who was eight years old, and Casey, who was four years old.
“He was very proud of them, and he was happiest when he was coaching them or watching a dance recital.”
“He coached his son Peter in football and baseball, and his daughter Casey was a true ‘Daddy’s Girl.'” Above all, he adored his children.”
Scott was last spotted racing up the World Trade Center’s stairs, just before the building collapsed.
However, his son did not learn about his father’s death right away.
Pete revealed on Jon Bernthal’s Real Ones show earlier this year that his father was supposed to pick him up from somewhere that fateful day.

“My mother picked me up,” he explained.
“She didn’t tell me anything for like three days.” She kept telling me my father was at work, and I had no idea.”
“My mum’s like, ‘You’re just grounded, you’re not allowed to watch TV,'” Pete continued. ‘What?’ I thought. ‘I didn’t do anything,’ she says. Then one night I turned on the TV and saw my father on there. They’re like, ‘These are all the deceased firemen.'”
The comedian added it was a ‘difficult period’ for his family because they had no idea what had happened to Scott, especially after hearing about individuals being dragged from the rubble by rescuers following the assault.
“There was just some hope, and it was just up and down, and nobody knew how to deal with it,” he explained, adding, “That’s why, as I get older, I’m like, ‘Man, my mom was awesome.'”
