Takeoff’s mother has filed a lawsuit against the owners of the bowling alley where her son was murdered in November 2022.

The Migos rapper, real name Kirsnick Khari Ball, died on November 1 at the age of 28 after being shot outside 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston, Texas after a private party.

Titania Davenport, his mother, said in a lawsuit filed on Wednesday that the venue’s proprietors failed to provide adequate protection on the night of her son’s death despite knowing the premises had been booked by “a well-known music personality” and the party would be attended by celebrities.

“Despite these facts, Defendants provided no screening mechanisms, no after-hour controls or security measures, and no enforcement of rules or industry standards to deter crime against their invitees, to include (Takeoff),” the lawsuit claims, according to Rolling Stone.

The lawsuit filed by Davenport alleges 18 instances of claimed negligence, including neglecting to protect high-profile guests from “risks of violent crime.”

“Defendants knew or should have known that a significant number of violent crimes were committed at the subject premises and in the surrounding area, but negligently failed to protect invitees like (Takeoff) from the risks of violent crime,” according to the lawsuit.

“Specifically, Defendants knew that, due to the nature of the party, celebrities would be in attendance and potentially targets of crime.” Defendants recklessly stated that sufficient security would be in place, while none existed; as a result, many persons attended the event without concern.”

Davenport is seeking specific monetary damages as well as pain and suffering, mental anguish, and “loss of earning capacity” for her son’s wrongful death.

Patrick Xavier Clark was charged with murder in the death of Takeoff last month.
