For the first time since the former Pitt Panthers defender Damar Hamlin sustained a terrifying injury and passed out on the field at Paycor Stadium during the season’s final Monday Night Football game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills, his family has issued a statement.
The Hamlin family issued a statement via Damar’s counsel that read, “On behalf of our family, we want to convey our profound gratitude for the love and support extended to Damar during this difficult time.” “The prayers, nice comments, and money from fans throughout the nation have truly touched us.”
They said they would provide any new information as soon as it was available but they had no updates to provide on Damar’s condition. The University of Cincinnati Medical Center’s physicians reportedly sedated him after he suffered a heart arrest, according to the most recent updates from early the morning after his accident. He remains in critical condition.
The Hamlins expressed gratitude to both teams for their assistance as well as to the medical staff at Paycor Stadium and UC Medical Center for reacting so rapidly to the incident.
They requested that followers continue to pray for Damar.
