During the Los Angeles ceremony for the 2023 SAG Awards on Sunday night, a few Hollywood A-listers got stuck outside the venue.
As seen in video footage shared by Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh, Bill Murray, Rooney Mara, and Claire Foy were among the celebrities who were momentarily barred from entering the ballroom inside the Fairmont Century Plaza hotel.
Total chaos at the SAG Awards as Claire Foy and Rooney Mara are told to wait for the fire marshal to let them and hundreds of other guests inside the Fairmont Hotel’s ballroom, according to Setoodeh’s tweet.
Even Bill Murray needs to wait, the author of “Ladies Who Punch” continued. This is insane!
In one instance, Mara, 37, had a stoic face while speaking with someone else in line while Foy, 38, appeared a little irritated about the delay.
Murray, 72, was looking around the space as a man who looked to be a security guard stood close by.
Although the reason of the blockage is still unknown, social media posts indicate that it appeared to be resolved by 5 p.m. local time.
The group of celebrities strolled the red carpet before the crowd in a variety of stylish outfits.
Foy sparkled in a yellow Prada gown accessorized with diamond jewelry and a dazzling clutch. Mara, on the other hand, caught everyone’s attention in a sheer black-and-white Alexander McQueen dress with few accouterments.
For their roles in “Women Talking,” both women are nominated for outstanding cast performance in a motion film.
Murray, who was most recently nominated for a SAG Award in 2016 for “A Very Murray Christmas,” added color to an elegant black suit with a colorful bowtie.
