SZA and Lizzo have made their “Special” remix available.
The feel-good album’s title track, which the chart-topping artists first performed at Lizzo’s sold-out Los Angeles Kia Forum event last November and is now streamable on HBO’s “Lizzo: Live In Concert,” is now accessible for fans to stream to their hearts’ delight.
Upon the album’s release, SZA tweeted: “FT ME SPECIAL REMIX BY @lizzo OUT NOW! Feel great because you deserve it! I adore you all! (sic)”
The album was just released a few days after Lizzo’s record, “About Damn Time,” won Record of the Year at the GRAMMYs.
The 34-year-old singer honored fellow contender Beyonce and dedicated her victory to the late music icon Prince, who passed away in 2016 after an accidental overdose.
She cried out: “What a surprise, this is!
“I made the decision to devote my life to creating uplifting music after Prince passed away. I had to be the change in order to improve the world since that is what I wanted to do.
After expressing gratitude to her crew, family, and producers, Lizzo tearfully praised Beyonce in front of the audience.
“Beyoncé, I missed fifth grade to see you perform,” she said. My life has been altered by you. I thought, “I want to make people feel this way with my music.” because of how you made me feel. So much gratitude to Beyonce. You are without a doubt our life’ greatest artist!
The “Good As Hell” singer won the award ahead of “ABBA (Don’t Shut Me Down,” “Easy On Me,” “Break My Soul,” “Mary J. Blige’s “Good Morning Gorgeous,” “You And Me On The Rock,” “Woman,” “Steve Lacy’s “Bad Habit,” “Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart Part 5,” and “As It Was.”
At the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles earlier that night, Lizzo dazzled the crowd with an amazing medley.
She appeared in silhouette and started singing “About Damn Time” before her band joined her. She then informed the audience that they would soon “have some church up on in here.”
She then started singing “Special” throughout the majority of her performance, accompanied by a gospel choir dressed in black and gold.
You don’t see that every day, the host Trevor Noah exclaimed afterward. She performs phenomenally each and every time she takes the stage.
“I need one of those gospel choirs,” I said. I cherish her. She is similar to dopamine as a human being.
