Mick Fleetwood Suggests That The Fleetwood Mac Band Is "Done" Following The Passing Of Christine McVie

Fleetwood Mac’s dissolution following Christine McVie’s passing was prophesied by Mick Fleetwood.

The Fleetwood Mac drummer and co-founder confessed the group was contemplating disbanding after the passing of its keyboardist, songwriter, and vocalist Christine McVie during remarks on the GRAMMY Awards red carpet on Sunday.

After a brief illness, Christine passed away in November of last year at the age of 79.

The band’s final performance with McVie was at a London Palladium memorial concert for founding member Peter Green in 2020.

Mick said of the group, according to BBC News, “I think right now, I honestly think the line in the sand has been made with the loss of Chris.” We’ve all said it before, so I’d say we’re done. Right now, it’s kind of inconceivable.

He continued, “They all get out and play, so I’m going to be doing the same thing, finding people to perform with,” while mentioning that the other band members were now concentrating on other musical endeavors. In the future, he would perform, but “not as Fleetwood Mac,” he insisted.
