The largest cinema company in the US, AMC, will start charging moviegoers according to their seats.
At AMC on Monday, the business unveiled its new pricing model, Sightline. Value Sightline, Standard Sightline, and Preferred Sightline are the three categories into which seats will be separated.
Value The least costly seats will be sightline seats, which include ADA seats and seats towards the front of the theater. The largest section of the theater will be made up of Standard Sightline seats, which will cost what AMC refers to as “the typical cost of a ticket.” The middle rows of the theater’s preferred sightlines will be more expensive than the other two choices.
AMC stated that in order to thank AMC Stubs A-List customers, reservations for Preferred Sightline seats are now free of charge.
Eliot Hamlisch, EVP and CMO of AMC Theatres, stated that “Sightline at AMC more closely aligns AMC’s seat pricing policy to that of many other entertainment venues, enabling experienced-based pricing and another method for moviegoers to find value at the movies.”
Although every seat at AMC offers a fantastic moviegoing experience, we are aware that some moviegoers prioritize their exact seat while others emphasize value.
The new pricing structure has already gone into effect at some AMC sites; it will eventually be implemented across the board in the United States by year’s end.
