Beyonce's Father Stands Up For Her In Dubai Following Criticism From The LGBTQ+ Community

Following criticism from the LGBTQ+ community, Beyonce’s father and longtime manager Mathew Knowles has defended her private event in Dubai.

The superstar performed live for the first time since 2018 on Saturday in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to commemorate the debut of the brand-new resort, Atlantis The Royal.

The LGBTQ+ community has criticized Beyonce for performing in the conservative nation where homosexuality is against the law.

Mathew responded by saying his daughter “unified a tremendously varied crowd with her fantastic performance overseas, bringing people together, as she does best,” according to TMZ on Tuesday.

He asserted that during her performance, “she offered respect and earned respect back from the country,” and he called those who claimed she had sold out by taking the job “narrow-minded”.

Fans were also reassured by the former manager of Destiny’s Child, who was present at the concert, that Beyonce has “always stood for inclusivity” and would “never do something to purposefully hurt someone.”

According to reports, the Crazy in Love singer received $24 million (£19.5 million) for the private performance, which drew a celebrity-studded crowd that included Kendall Jenner, Rebel Wilson, Ellen Pompeo, and Letitia Wright.

She played popular songs like Countdown, Drunk in Love, Halo, and Naughty Girl. She also brought her 11-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter on stage to perform their song BROWN SKIN GIRL live for the first time.

Beyonce received criticism from some fans for not playing any songs from her 2022 album Renaissance; however, Mathew advised those fans to be patient as she planned to tour that album.
