Can’t get a flight to Coachella in California? No issue. For at least a few more years, you’ll be able to view the yearly arts and music event live from the convenience of your home.
The exclusive agreement between YouTube and Coachella’s organizers, Goldenvoice, has been extended through 2026, according to a post on YouTube’s official site. As a result, viewers from all around the world will still be able to watch on-demand videos of performances and broadcast the festival live for free on YouTube.
According to Goldenvoice CEO Paul Tollett, “our partnership with YouTube gives Coachella to everyone around the world.” The performances on the 2023 lineup are from Brazil, France, Iceland, India, Jamaica, Nigeria, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Spain, and other countries. It is crucial to our team to connect international fans with their home country artists.
Viewers will also be able to interact with other fans via Live Chat and enjoy behind-the-scenes material on YouTube Shorts for this year’s event. Additionally, there will be on-site activations involving YouTube creators and artists as well as livestream and playlist synergies between YouTube and YouTube Music. Through YouTube Shopping, fans can purchase Coachella and artist items, and YouTube Premium users will have access to unique content.
Coachella is currently being streamed live on YouTube for the eleventh consecutive year. After agreeing to a deal with Goldenvoice in 2011, according to Billboard, YouTube first became the only place to watch Coachella live. The event was postponed in 2020 and 2021 owing to the pandemic, but they last extended their agreement in 2018 for another three years.
This year, Coachella will be held over the two weekends of April 14 through 16 and April 21 through 23. Bad Bunny, Frank Ocean, Blackpink, Björk, Gorillaz, The Chemical Brothers, Blondie, Charli XCX, and other artists are among the performers.
