Before continuing his international tour—which has already taken him to countries like India, Korea, Malaysia, and more—Russ has surprised his fans with a brand-new song. “Inside,” which was produced by Will Haynes and Juan Ra, is a lo-fi ode for staying home and honing your trade.
Russ raps on “staying inside, not going out” despite what people want people to do over a punchy, trap-like beat. It appears Russ is heeding his own counsel and opting to keep his peace after postponing an earlier European leg of his tour to attend to his mental health, an event he reflected on throughout a few recent songs.
The rapper teased “Inside” on Instagram and only posted it on SoundCloud; it hasn’t yet made its official streaming debut.
Russ explained in the caption that he “just feel like sharin weird songs I’ve been makin” and clarified that the spontaneous single is different from the two tracks he plans to release on December 9 and December 16.
