As many destructive wildfires continue to spread across the greater Los Angeles region, music and music-related events — including several related to the city’s current film awards season — are being canceled or postponed due to both safety concerns and respect for the situation.

Arcuri’s gigs at The Wiltern on Wednesday (Jan. 8) and Thursday (Jan. 9) have been postponed for Tuesday (Jan. 14) and Wednesday (Jan. 15), the venue stated on Wednesday. “All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date.” For any future ticket inquiries, please contact the point of purchase.”

Sullivan and Hamish’s Troubador gig, which was supposed to take place on Thursday (Jan. 9), has been rescheduled for a later date, Anderson said on Instagram Stories. “I’ll have new information to share very soon,” he said.

The legendary West Hollywood venue has rescheduled Rose’s gig from Wednesday (Jan. 8) to January 23, the singer-songwriter said on Instagram Stories. “Let’s prioritize the health and safety of the community and we will get back to live music as soon as it’s safe to do so,” Rose stated on Twitter.

Variety reports that the ABC late-night series canceled its taping on Wednesday night (Jan. 8). Cynthia Erivo from Wicked was scheduled to appear, as was Victoria Canal, a musical guest.

The indie pop band revealed on Instagram Stories that its gig scheduled for Thursday (Jan. 9) at The Echo in Los Angeles’ Echo Park neighborhood had been rescheduled. “We and the venue have decided to postpone tomorrow’s scheduled show @theechola,” the band said on Wednesday, January 8. “The venue will contact you personally with more information. We hope that everyone is remaining safe. We will return to meet you soon.

The rapper’s show at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, slated for Wednesday (Jan. 8), has been canceled due to wildfires, according to X. “The health and safety of our fans and employees will remain our top priority,” the venue stated in a statement. “Tickets will be refunded at the original point of purchase.”

The classical pianist’s concert at the downtown Los Angeles venue on Wednesday (Jan. 8) has been postponed, with the LAPhil writing on its website, “A new date and additional information will be communicated to ticketholders via email as soon as it is arranged.” Tickets for the January 8 event will be good for the new date, which has yet to be announced, and no more action is required on your behalf. Due to the wildfires, Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences CEO Bill Kramer announced on Wednesday (Jan. 8) that the nominations voting window for the 97th annual Oscars would be extended two days to Tuesday (Jan. 14), and that the Oscars Nominations Announcement would be moved from Jan. 17 to Jan. 19. “We want to offer our deepest condolences to those who have been impacted by the devastating fires across Southern California,” Kramer told reporters. “So many of our members and industry colleagues live and work in the Los Angeles area, and we are thinking of you.”
Wicked sing-along screening
A special showing of the musical hit, hosted by the film’s composer John Powell and featuring an audience of backing vocalists and behind-the-scenes performers, has been canceled. It had been scheduled to take place on the Universal Studios backlot.
Better Man premieres.
On Wednesday (Jan. 8), Paramount Pictures postponed the L.A. premiere of its upcoming Robbie Williams biopic Better Man, saying, “Due to the dangerous conditions affecting Los Angeles, we are canceling tomorrow’s premiere of ‘Better Man.'” Our thoughts are with those affected by the tragic fires caused by these conditions, and we urge everyone to be safe and follow the directions and directives of local officials and government agencies.”

The annual film and television awards event, which included candidates Miley Cyrus, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, Selena Gomez, and Maren Morris in the Best Song category, has been moved from Sunday (Jan. 12) to January 26 at the Santa Monica Airport’s Barker Hangar. “The ongoing tragedy has already had a significant impact on our community. “All of our thoughts and prayers are with those battling the devastating fires, as well as everyone who has been affected,” stated Critics Choice Association CEO Joey Berlin in a statement.

The fires also forced the cancellation of a red-carpet screening of the wrestling drama starring Jennifer Lopez scheduled for Tuesday night (Jan. 7) at the DGA in West Hollywood. “In light of today’s safety concerns around heightened wind activity and fire outbreaks in Los Angeles, we regret to inform you that we are canceling tonight’s premiere of ‘Unstoppable,'” the movie studio stated in a statement. “Although we were looking forward to sharing this fantastic and inspiring film with you, safety is our top priority. We recommend that everyone watch ‘Unstoppable’ on Prime Video, which will be accessible globally on January 16. Thank you for your understanding, and please be safe.”

A pop-up event planned for Complex LA from Friday to Sunday (Jan. 10-12) to commemorate the five-year anniversary of Gomez’s Rare album has been postponed.

Alt 98.7 and iHeartRadio stated on Thursday (Jan. 9) that the concert scheduled for Jan. 11 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, including Cage the Elephant, St. Vincent, Incubus, and many others, has been canceled due to the wildfires. “The devastation from the fires is beyond comprehension,” according to a statement released on Instagram. “We love our city and are putting health and safety first.”
