Diddy’s mother claims her son is not “perfect,” but is innocent.

Janice Combs, Diddy’s mother, has released a statement regarding his recent arrest on charges of suspected sex trafficking and racketeering. Janice told Local 10 News on Sunday that the claims against her son came from a “narrative created out of lies.” She also stated that, while he first lied about attacking Cassie in 2016, the remaining charges against him are false.

“I come to you today as another person who is devastated and deeply saddened by the allegations leveled against my son, Sean Combs.” It is devastating to see my son penalized for a false story rather than the truth. Witnessing what appears to be a public lynching of my kid before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is an agonizing agony that cannot be described. My son, like every other human being, needs a day in court to finally tell his side of the story and prove his innocence.

Janice then brought up CNN’s release of previously unseen footage of Diddy punching Cassie at a hotel in 2016, earlier this year. “Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed,” she told me. After CNN released the video, Diddy made a vague apologetic video on social media.

Diddy has already pled not guilty and intends to pursue the issue in court. He is now held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn while awaiting trial.
