Kevin Spacey has spoken out for the first time since his sexual assault trial was acquitted.

On Wednesday, the Oscar winner spoke out for the first time after being found not guilty on nine counts of sexual assault, including seven counts of sexual assault as well as causing a person to engage in sexual behavior without consent and causing a person to participate in penetrative sexual activity.

“I imagine that many of you can understand that there’s a lot for me to process after what has just happened today,” the 64-year-old remarked to the reporters outside the courthouse, according to a video uploaded on social media by Variety.

“But I’d like to say that I’m enormously grateful to the jury for taking the time to carefully examine all of the evidence and all of the facts before reaching their decision,” the House of Cards star continued.

“I am humbled by today’s outcome.” I’d also like to thank the employees within the courthouse, security and everyone who looked after us every day, my legal team… for being here every day, and that’s all I’ve got for now. Thank you a lot.”

Spacey was initially charged with 12 counts, plus an addition to one of the accusations; however, three of the counts were dismissed due to a “legal technicality.”

The allegations concerned four males and claimed events that occurred between 2001 and 2013.
