Netflix has been chastised for its ‘extremely awkward’ approach to promoting the upcoming season of The Witcher.

The enormously successful fantasy series has returned for a third season – or, rather, the first book of that season – last week, and fans are eager to see what happens as the plot unfolds.

However, some substantial changes are on the horizon for the program, which is one of the most popular on Netflix, as Henry Cavill is slated to quit the title Witcher Geralt of Rivia.

As one grunting A-list muscleman exits the role and sets down the sword, another is prepared to take his place, with Liam Hemsworth scheduled to reprise the role after this third installment.

However, Netflix has made life difficult for the upcoming star, who will join a group that includes Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, and Joey Batey, by erecting large signs indicating that Cavill will remain in the role for the final season.

“Nothing against Liam Hemsworth, but you have basically guaranteed The Witcher will be cancelled after his first season,” a third said.

Many others have seized this as an opportunity to criticize Netflix over Cavill’s departure from the program, which might be for a variety of reasons.

Some speculated that he had a falling out with others over the source material, while others speculated that he wanted to focus on a movie role.

We may never know why Cavill left The Witcher, but a lot of people are upset about it.

“Just so you know how many of us will not be watching when he is gone,” one commenter wrote.

“Look, Netflix, it is rare to find an actor/actress so perfect for a role.” I am a big fan of the Witcher series, but I am not interested in another one without HIM.

“I already know it is going to be stupid to leave him out of it. When you made that declaration, you lost me.”

Anyway, The Witcher season three volume one, starring Henry Cavill, is currently accessible on Netflix.
