Tim Allen is thinking about his Home Improvement co-star Zachery Ty Bryan’s recent difficulties.
The 70-year-old actor, who played Bryan’s TV father Tim Taylor on the ABC comedy, revealed that he doesn’t “know what’s going on with” the former child star following his turbulent few years, which included repeated arrests and an alleged financial fraud.
“Zach is a great kid who has grown into a complex man,” Allen said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “All you can do is step aside and let somebody go through their process.”
“At some point, he deviated from the guy I know to someone who is reacting to situations I had nothing to do with and cannot control,” he continued. “I’m not sure what happens when people become corrupted.” You simply don’t know.”
Bryan, 41, was arrested in October 2020 for allegedly strangling a lady, to which he later pleaded guilty. After many DUI offenses, he also entered a multiple-offender alcohol program.
Bryan became involved in Bitcoin as well as significant debt. He was even accused of creating a sham agricultural technology firm.
Bryan “duped” them into a dodgy cryptocurrency plan, according to sources, and the financial losses have been “a gut punch.” Bryan, on the other hand, insisted to the news site that he was not “running some shady scam deal or something,” and that he was “in the same boat” as his investors.
Bryan reflected on his many difficulties, saying, “I do know when things get in the way of who you’re supposed to be, where you’re supposed to go, and what God has planned for you.” He occasionally challenges you to perform some self-reflection by gazing in the mirror and accepting responsibility.”
Despite his former TV son’s recent struggles, Allen wishes Bryan well, saying, “I know Zach’s heart.” He has to forge his own path.”
