Although Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey are no longer together, there does not appear to be any animosity between them. In fact, in a recent interview with “The Joe Budden Podcast,” Cannon discussed one of the most important things he learned from his ex-wife and mother of two of his children.
“Mariah doesn’t go out the home – it costs her $150,000, $200,000 just to walk out the door,” Cannon remarked, referring to the singer’s habit of accepting lucrative contracts. According to Nick, the contract should contain the costs of “anything from security to hair and makeup to jets.”
When he and Carey started “developing a partnership,” the TV presenter realized why Mariah is one of the most paid stars in show business. He said, “I’ve never dealt with these sorts of numbers that I’m now 50-50 in.”
Cannon claimed that watching Mariah’s luxurious lifestyle, business practices, and financial methods lacerated his “ego,” prompting him to strive harder to become “a breadwinner too.”
“I’m not a toy for boys,” he declared.
Cannon stated he met with “financial consultants” and “board members” to discover how he might diversify and generate more money during the chat.
After marrying in 2008, Cannon and Carey welcomed twins Moroccan and Monroe into the world in 2011. In 2014, the couple divorced, and their divorce was formalized in 2016.
