'American Idol' Will Be Without Katy Perry For The Time Being Due To Turmoil

Katy Perry will be temporarily replaced on “American Idol” while she is in England for King Charles’ forthcoming coronation.

Luke Bryan claims that a pair of “big time” Hollywood celebrities will hit the stage on May 6 at Windsor Castle in place of the “ET” singer and fellow judge Lionel Richie.

“It’s a major deal. The country singer told Entertainment Tonight that it was a big deal. “The contenders who are filling in have used their songs numerous times. a great deal more than mine!”

Perry, who has recently been under fire for her harsh remarks about the show’s competitors, would benefit from a break from the judge’s bench.

The “Idol” crowd booed the hitmaker just a few weeks ago for criticizing Nutsa Buzaladze’s bejeweled clothing choices.

When Perry remarked, “Nutsa, every time you take the stage, it’s like you glitter bomb the stage,” the audience erupted in boos.

Listen, there is one thing I would like to see from you going forward: no glitter. I am aware that will be challenging.

The “Dark Horse” singer attempted to justify herself, but it wasn’t the first time she upset the crowd.

One month before, Sara Beth Liebe, a 25-year-old mother of three, was a contender and Perry received criticism for “mom-shaming” her.

Liebe informed the judges about her pre-audition predicament, which prompted Perry to get up and move behind the panel of judges.

Liebe remarked, “If Katy lays on the table, I think I’m going to pass out,” to which the singer, who has a 2-year-old daughter named Daisy with fiancé Orlando Bloom, responded, “Honey, you’ve been laying on the table too much.”

Liebe, who ultimately dropped out of the singing competition, later discussed the “hurtful” and “embarrassing” incident on TikTok.

The since-deleted video included her saying, “I think that women supporting and boosting other women is really amazing and I think that mom-shaming is pretty dumb and I think that it’s hard enough to be a parent and it’s hard enough to be a woman.

ABC broadcasts “American Idol” on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, CBS will begin airing live coverage of King Charles’ coronation on Saturday at 5 a.m. ET.
