Baka Not Nice was one of many people affected by Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef, and he wasn’t happy about it.
Baka Not Nice was propelled into the spotlight amid the Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud. Overall, he was a punchline on “Not Like Us” when Lamar quipped, “Baka’s got a weird case, why is he around.” Ultimately, this proved to be one of the most quotable moments of the entire conflict. Fans continue to repeat the slogan to this day. However, Baka is not a fan of this lyric, and for good reason. He recently chatted with Hot Freestyle, where he discussed the beef and expressed his eagerness to respond.
“My first initial thing was to respond and respond quickly, very efficiently and directly,” Baka Not Nice told me. “It started simmering in me because where I came from, you can’t just call out a man without having documentation to back it up. It’s ridiculous. And then to see the entire country rally behind it and celebrate it as if it were a true story is incredible. Everyone needs to understand that I have a child, Drake has a child, so making charges like that is ludicrous and out of this world.”
Baka Not Nice was eventually told to drop everything. Who told him this? Of course, it’s Drake. Drizzy was feeling the heat from the diss tunes, and after “The Heart Part 6,” he dropped out of the war. Drake decided to move on after being accused of some unsettling behavior. Later, he instructed Baka to do the same.
Unfortunately for both Baka and Drake, the ramifications of “Not Like Us” continue to linger. Drake is still battling UMG, while Kendrick Lamar is enjoying some of his most successful years to date. Overall, “Not Like Us” will be remembered as one of the top five diss tracks of all time. It’s unclear whether this beef will continue in the future.
