Jim Rome, a sports pundit, continues to explore new territory.

The popular sports presenter, whose “The Jim Rome Show” is accessible on radio and social media platform X, will launch a free ad-supported television channel that will include unique programming as well as a fourth hour of his current show. Additional programming is being developed, and the initiative will be supported by both A+E Networks and Range Media Partners.

“FAST platforms give us an incredible opportunity to reach fans on their terms — whenever and wherever they want to tune in,” Rome said reporters in a statement. “I’ve always thought that being relevant in this market requires growing with your audience, which is precisely what I’m doing with my shift to FAST. The unique fourth hour and weekend material will provide even more real-time sports coverage and insightful discussion.”

Amazon Freevee, DirectTV, LG Channels, Plex, Samsung TV Plus, Sling Freestream, and VIZIO WatchFree+ are among the platforms that now provide the new FAST channel.

“Partnering with A+E Networks to bring ‘The Jim Rome Show’ to FAST is an exciting step forward for Range,” said Adam Soldinger, senior vice president of strategy and operations at Range Digital Ventures. “We’re focusing on new ways to interact with today’s tech-savvy audiences by providing premium content on free, ad-supported platforms. This cooperation with A+E Networks and Jim Rome enables us to provide that flexibility while also reaching an underserved sports audience at an optimum time.”

The new hour of Rome’s program will delve into the larger world of sports culture and is described as “lighter and more conversational than the show’s first three hours.” Rome is scheduled to investigate social media perspectives on sporting events and fandom, as well as speak with unexpected guests.

“‘The Jim Rome Show’ provides our valued FAST partners with live, excellent content from a prolific and incredibly popular sports host,” said Deborah K. Bradley, senior vice president of worldwide content sales for A+E Networks. “Launching during this incredibly active time of year for sports, including, of course, football season and baseball playoffs, is optimal for both the platforms and their viewers.”

Approximately 60% of A+E’s FAST viewers identify as GenZ or millennials.

Rome is represented by Range Media Partners, Attorney Dave Feldman (Brecheen, Feldman, Breimer, Silver, and Thompson), and Manager Kraig Kitchin.
