Madonna has revealed her first words following her ‘near-death’ experience last year.

Last June, it was widely reported that the ‘Like a Virgin’ singer was admitted to the hospital with a severe bacterial infection and spent time in intensive care.

Guy Oseary, Madonna’s talent manager, stated at the time: “On Saturday, June 24, Madonna acquired a serious bacterial infection, which resulted in a several-day stay in the intensive care unit.

“Her health is improving, but she is still undergoing medical treatment. Full recovery is expected.

“At this time, we will need to pause all commitments, including the tour.”

“We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

The days that followed were hazardous for the singer, with one claimed close friend of Madonna and her family alleging that ‘her family was preparing for the worst’.

“Everyone thought we might lose her, and that has been the reality of the situation,” a family member told Mail Online.

And late last year, the singer spoke up about her harrowing experience.

Speaking to the audience, the ‘Vogue’ hitmaker remarked, “I want to say it was a crazy year for me, too. And I didn’t think I would make it. Neither did my doctors. That’s why I awoke with all of my kids gathered around me.

“I have forgotten five days of my life…” or my death, I’m not sure where I was.

“But the angels were protecting me, and my children were present. And my children never fail to save me.”

Madonna has now spoken more about her experience during her first Celebration Tour concert in Los Angeles last Monday night (March 4).

During the event, the singer stated, “This show every night is not actually that demanding on my body. It’s difficult for me emotionally since I’m telling you the genuine narrative of my life.

“My heart’s on my sleeve. I’ve fallen from many horses and broken many bones. “But nothing can stop me.”

Madonna then revealed the first word she spoke after coming up from a coma.

According to the musician’s assistant, the first thing she said when she woke up was ‘No!’.

She explained: “I’m fairly confident that was God speaking to me, ‘Do you want to come? Do you want to come up with me?”
