Sergio Brown, a former NFL safety, is vigorously defending himself in his murder case this week by entering a plea of not guilty. He is facing allegations of allegedly causing the death of his mother and subsequently hiding her body.

Brown submitted the pleas in front of an Illinois judge on Wednesday, as confirmed by a representative from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.

He is scheduled to return for another hearing in the case around the end of the following month.
