The Miami Heat (1-0) and the Boston Celtics (1-0) play their first game of the NBA season on Friday night at the TD Garden in Massachusetts.
The game is between two teams from the Eastern Conference. From 7:30 p.m. ET on October 27, the game will be shown on ESPN. There will be Beth Mowins, Doris Burke, and Cassidy Hubbarth on the call.
The Heat and Celtics played in the Eastern Conference Finals last year, which was a great game. The Heat beat the other teams three times in a row as the eighth seed. But the second-seeded Celtics came back to win the next three games, which set up a Game 7 in Boston. Caleb Martin and Jimmy Butler scored 54 points between them as the Heat beat the Celtics 103–84 to win the series and move on to the NBA Finals.

The Heat and Celtics are both very good, so they could beat each other again in the Eastern Conference Finals in May 2024. Because these two teams don’t like each other, you can expect hard calls, trash talk, and players getting angry with each other. If you like that kind of basketball, you should watch ESPN on Friday night. If you want to watch ESPN easily, you should get cable. However, live TV services like Sling TV let you watch ESPN without a cable box and for less money. Find out how to watch the Heat vs. Celtics game on Sling TV below.
