Will Smith went on a trip at sea on Sunday and posted about it on Instagram for the first time since his ex-wife Jada Pinkett Smith said they’ve been split up for seven years.
The 55-year-old star was seen riding in a boat a few days after his 52-year-old wife officially said they were no longer together. On Sunday, he spoke out about the situation himself.

The Oscar-winning actor was seen sleeping in the boat’s cabin. There was a voiceover that said, “Fun fact about me: I can take a nap almost anywhere,” and the sound of several phone alerts going off at the same time.
The girl from Philadelphia captioned the picture, “Notifications off.” She was then seen happy on the deck of the boat as it sped along at sea.
In the video, Smith wore a puffy black coat, black sports pants, and white and brown Nike shoes.

In an email that was released Saturday in the New York Times, Smith said that Pinkett Smith’s recent comments about their relationship woke him up. He also said that she was more “resilient, clever, and compassionate” than he thought.
The star of King Richard wrote in an email, “When you’ve been with someone for more than half your life, you lose touch with your emotions.”
“And it is all too easy to stop noticing their hidden nuances and subtle beauty.”
Pinkett Smith’s book, Worthy, comes out on Tuesday. Last week, she told Hoda Kotb on the Today show that her marriage to Smith reached a turning point seven years ago.

Pink Smith said on the show, “I think by the time we got to 2016, we were just tired of trying.” I believe that both of us were still stuck in our ideals of what the other person should be like.
She went on, “I promised that there would never be a reason for us to split up.” No matter what, we will get through it. I promised to keep that promise, and I haven’t been able to.
More than a year and a half have passed since Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head, saying, “Jada, I love you, G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see it!”
The reference was to the movie from 1997 that had Demi Moore with a buzz cut. (Pinkett Smith has been identified with alopecia, a condition that makes hair fall out.)

Smith then walked onstage and hit Rock. He then went back to his place and yelled twice at Rock, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth!” The crowd was shocked.
Later that night, Smith apologized to the Academy and other nominees for not mentioning Rock in his acceptance speech after winning the Best Actor Oscar for his part as tennis legend Richard Williams in King Richard.
Smith later apologized several times for what happened and quit the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences before being banned from the Oscars for 10 years.
Smith said in a July 2022 apology for the speech he gave online that his wife “had nothing to do with” his attack on Rock.
He said, “I made a choice on my own based on my own experiences and my history with Chris.” “I’m sorry for making my family and kids so hot.”
He also said, “I tried to get in touch with Chris, but got a message saying that he’s not ready to talk yet. When he is, he will.” So I’m going to tell you, Chris, I’m sorry. I’m sorry for how I behaved, and I’m here whenever you want to talk.
