Malia Obama was seen smoking a cigarette outside a Los Angeles convenience shop on Wednesday.
Former President Barack Obama’s daughter was seen sucking on a cigarette while conversing with a friend and standing next to a black automobile.
Wearing a blue cardigan, brown trousers, and black shoes, the 25-year-old appeared at ease.
Malia wore her long hair down to complement her carefree, makeup-free image.
This isn’t the first time the ex-first daughter has been caught smoking.
Back in 2016, the Harvard graduate was caught smoking a marijuana while attending the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago.
She was caught wearing a “Smoking Kills” tee at another music event in Philadelphia a few weeks later.
Malia Obama’s younger sister, Sasha Obama, was reportedly photographed inhaling cigarette puffs while leaving a Labor Day party in Los Angeles last month, indicating that smoking runs in the family.
The 22-year-old University of Southern California graduate was photographed on the street with pals wearing a barely-there bikini top and a blue maxi skirt.
The lawmaker, 62, has previously spoken up about his addiction, revealing that he used to smoke up to ten cigarettes every day.
However, Barack promised his wife, Michelle Obama, that he would resign before the 2008 election.
“As a former smoker, I constantly struggle with it,” he said in a 2009 news appearance. “Have I ever fallen off the wagon? Yes. Is I a daily or a consistent smoker? No.”
He later thanked Malia with assisting him in quitting in his 2020 biography, “A Promised Land.”
Barack claimed that seeing his elder daughter’s disappointment when she “smelled” smoke “on his breath” convinced him to quit smoking forever.
