X Previously, Twitter Announced The Launch Of A Streaming Service To Compete With Twitch And YouTube

For years, competitors have been attempting to find a method to compete with Twitch, the live streaming service that focuses largely on gaming, and YouTube. Now, X, formerly Twitter, is joining that drive by developing a live streaming service that will allow X users to stream live on the network in the same way that Twitch users do.

Although the service is presently only available to Premium customers, anyone can watch the feeds. The service works as follows:

Twitch was founded in 2011 and is now owned by Amazon. Originally aimed at gamers, it has subsequently evolved into a service for everyone who wants to live stream. The service had 3 million monthly broadcasters and 15 million daily active users in February 2020.

For years, many hoped that a viable competitor would emerge, and now X appears to be attempting to become the next choice for folks dissatisfied with Twitch and even YouTube.

Elon Musk has stated that he hopes to turn X into an all-encompassing platform. It was recently revealed that X would begin to offer video and phone calls. It has also just increased the maximum duration of videos that can be posted to the platform. It now provides live streams for gamers and anyone else who wants to livestream on X.

You must be an X Premium subscriber to use this new live stream feature. Premium X is now available for $8 per month or $84 per year on the web. It costs $11 per month or $114.99 per year for iOS or Android.

The major question now is what kind of financial arrangement X will provide its broadcasters. Customers can already get revenue shares for adverts in their replies from X. The question now is how broadcasters will make money from streaming on X vs Twitch or YouTube.
