When Apple releases its new iPhone later this month, it could be the most significant upgrade to the iPhone in years.
The iPhone 15 is likely to be announced in just a few days at the Wonderlust event, which will be broadcast live from Apple Park on September 12th, and experts believe it will include a substantial update.
Apple has already promised new features for the next iPhone 15, and by sharing the Apple logo in grey, blue, and black, they may have also hinted to new phone color options.

Not only that, but the iPhone 15 is said to be eliminating the Lightning charger in favor of USB-C charging.
After European Union rules prompted Apple to update its Lightning charger cable method, speculation about a modification to the iPhone began.
The European Parliament declared that it would require USB Type-C charging connectors on “all mobile phones, tablets, and cameras in the EU” in order to eliminate “hassle for consumers” and “curb e-waste.”

This means that Apple will be compelled to transition from lightning cords to USB-C by the end of 2024.
Senior vice president of software engineering Craig Federighi and senior vice president of worldwide marketing Greg Joswiak acknowledged to the Wall Street Journal in October that Apple will have to comply with the new requirements.
“Governments get to do what they want,” Joswiak explained, “and we will have to comply.”
“We do not have a choice.”
Despite revealing that they will observe the rule, Joswiak made no attempt to hide his displeasure.

“We have no choice, as we do around the world, but to comply with local laws,” he said, “but we believe the approach would have been better for the environment and better for our customers if the government did not have that perspective.”
He confessed that Apple had been arguing with the European Parliament about the cables for over ten years.
It will be the first time in 11 years that iPhone charging mechanisms have been altered.
Apple has already switched to USB-C charging for its MacBooks and iPads, but it appears to be unwilling to do so for its phones.
Apple first launched the Lightning charger with the release of the iPhone 5 in 2012.
The technology replaced the 30-pin dock connector and provided faster charging for iPhone users.
