A few irate members of the public have asserted that Sandra Bullock’s Oscar for her performance in The Blind Side ought to be withdrawn because the man who served as the inspiration for the movie sued the family he moved in with.

There actually is not a relationship between these two occurrences, which is why you are having trouble drawing one. However, that has not prevented people from looking for it.

For the 2009 film The Blind Side, Bullock played Leigh Anne Tuohy, the matriarch of the family who took in Michael Oher when he was facing homelessness as a teenager.

According to reports, the movie was based on actual occurrences. It received an Oscar nomination for Best Picture and helped Bullock win the award for Best Actress.

Oher, now 37, has filed a lawsuit accusing the couple who took him in of deceiving him. According to legal documents, Oher discovered in February that “the conservatorship to which he consented on the basis that doing so would make him a member of the Tuohy family, in fact provided him no familial relationship” (conservatorship provided him no familial relationship).

The lawsuit asserts that because the Tuohys never made it clear to Michael that they would have final say over all of his contracts, he would have signed away his right to do so if the conservatorship had been approved.

The lawsuit also asserts that Oher “at no time ever willingly or knowingly signed this document” and that the Tuohy family entered into a movie deal for the rights to Oher’s narrative for $225,000 plus 2.5 percent of future earnings.

Bullock played Leigh Anne Tuohy in The Blind Side, but there is no proof that she knew what Oher or the family may or may not have agreed to when she was filming the movie.

She showed up on set and played the part that was assigned to her as an actor; this performance just so happened to be outstanding enough to win her an Oscar.

Although the lawsuit filing does not invalidate Bullock’s performance in The Blind Side, some critics have argued that the award should be withdrawn in light of the charges made against the Tuohy family.

Sandra Bullock need to return her Oscar, according to one commenter, and we really need to start investigating these “feel-good” rumors.
