Lil Tay's Ex-Manager Suggests That Her Brother Was Behind The Death Hoax

The former manager of Lil Tay said that her brother faked her death and that there was a “alternative motive” for the stunt.

On Wednesday, August 9, the death of the 14-year-old Internet star and her brother, Jason Tian, was revealed on her Instagram page.

But the news was quickly denied on Thursday, August 10, when Tay released a statement saying that she and her brother were still alive and that her account had been hacked, which is how the news got out.

Now, her former boss Harry Tsang says that he thinks Lil Tay’s brother did it.

“When I heard that Lil Tay said she was safe, it was a relief to know that she was,” he told The Mirror. “However, I think the hacking that was said to have happened may not have happened.

“There are two reasons why I think this way: first, restoring a hacked account on platforms like Meta and Instagram usually doesn’t take 24 hours.”

He went on: “Second, the acts of Lil Tay’s brother, who is known for taking extreme measures, make me think there was another reason why this happened. At the same time, if the real goal is to bring Lil Tay back into the public eye, I think that these acts show a certain amount of irresponsibility.

“It’s important to think about what might happen if you use these kinds of tactics, especially since they might change how people think and feel in general.”

Lil Tay said she was “completely heartbroken” about the fake news that she had died. She said it was because “a third party” had taken over her account.

She told TMZ, “I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m so heartbroken that I can’t even find the right words.”

“The last 24 hours have been very scary. Yesterday, I spent the whole day trying to sort out this mess while getting sad phone calls from friends and family.

She went on to say, “A third party took over my Instagram account and used it to spread false information and rumors about me. Even my name was misspelled.” My official name is not Claire Hope, but Tay Tian.”

Before her statement, there was some question about Lil Tay’s supposed death. Police said they hadn’t heard about it yet, and some of her family and close friends wouldn’t say anything.

“I’ve talked to people who know a lot about the family’s situation,” Harry Tsang told The Daily Beast in the past.

“The current situation is so complicated that I can’t say for sure whether or not the family’s statement is true.”
