Elon Musk has spoken out following the release of Threads, the ‘Twitter Killer’ program that, according to CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, has attracted a staggering 10 million users in just 10 hours.

The new social media network, which debuted earlier today (6 July), is Instagram’s text-based discussion app and is not merely a Twitter competitor.

It’s described by Instagram as “a new way to share with text” that will “shape the future of the internet” and is intended to be a platform for communities to get together and discuss current events and future trends.

Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, was eager to weigh in on the topic and offer his opinion on the new site and its popularity. He tweeted in code: “It is infinitely preferable to be attacked by strangers on Twitter, than indulge in the false happiness of hide-the-pain Instagram.”

He also responded with a laughing emoji to a DogeDesigner post that claimed “Meta’s new app was built entirely using this keyboard,” along with a picture of a keyboard that can only perform Ctrl C and Ctrl V operations. The post implied that Threads is a copy and paste of the Twitter platform.

Due to the analogies, Zuckerberg posted his first Twitter in ten years, which was the iconic meme of Spider-Man pointing at Spider-Man.

The conflict between Zuckerberg and Musk, CEO of Meta, has recently escalated.

Another post outlined Meta’s strategies for replacing Twitter as the future digital conversation hub.

“I think there should be a public conversations app with more than 1 billion people on it,” he wrote.

Twitter has had the chance to achieve this, but it hasn’t succeeded. I think we will.

Users may easily log in to Threads using their Instagram accounts because it was developed by the Instagram team.

Unlike tweets on Twitter, which are limited to 280 characters, posts on Threads can be up to 500 characters long and can contain links, images, and videos that are up to five minutes long as opposed to two minutes and 20 seconds on Twitter.
