YNW Melly’s team uploaded a post on his Instagram page ahead of his second day in court, not only promoting the live feed of the proceedings but also asking for prayers for the embattled musician.

Melly, real name Jamell Demons, may be confident that some of his almost four million followers offered him their best wishes, but that did not stop him from praying for himself as well. Melly appears to take a moment to calm down and connect with God before rapidly freshening up his attire in a clip from Law & Crime’s coverage of the double murder trial tweeted to @nojumper.

“Before jurors arrived this morning, @YNWMelly appeared to pray, holding his hands to his face then slowly lowering them to his side,” reporters said on Twitter this afternoon (June 13). “He later closed his eyes and breathed deeply,” they continued. As the video continues to circulate on social media, some skeptics speculate that Demons was truly casting a spell. Those with more empathy observed that sitting on trial with a death sentence hanging over your head must be “the worst feeling in the world.”

Melly, YNW, Seems to Put His Trust in God

Melly has been “all smiles” since returning from his lunch break today, according to various courthouse reports. “He is well-known for his magnetic personality. “It is on full display right now,” noted correspondent Bryson “Boom” Paul. In other news, the journalist has been observing Boosie Badazz’s demeanor during testifying.

The Louisiana native, who previously defeated murder accusations in 2012, was also in court on day one. At the time, he was irritated by a man nearby napping during the proceedings and failed to return after a little break. Today, though, Boosie was noticeably serious when the prosecution questioned Tara Carroll, the Miramar Police Department’s crime scene investigator. So far, he is the only rapper that has expressed interest in Demons.
