P.K. Subban, EX-NHL Star, Body-Shames Lizzo Live On Air… Crass Remark

On Tuesday night, P.K. Subban publicly body-shamed Lizzo while analyzing an NHL playoff game for ESPN. His remark was so offensive that many people online are now calling for the former All-Star to retract it.

The comment was made by Subban, who joined ESPN’s hockey coverage after his retirement in 2022, when he was analyzing Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoff series between the Panthers and the Maple Leafs.

John Buccigross, Subban’s co-host on the ESPN set, urged that Toronto “pack a lunch” after falling short 4-2, suggesting that the team should eat more to prepare for Game 2.

Subban concurred before taking a cheap shot at the vocalist of “Truth Hurts”.

Subban remarked, “Perhaps they need to pack a Lizzo-sized lunch.”

Social media users swiftly criticized the former New Jersey Devils defenceman for his remarks, with many urging him to apologise. Some Twitter users urged ESPN to discipline its top hockey analyst for the remark.

Subban and ESPN have not yet commented on the matter. Although she is accustomed to responding to remarks about her body, Lizzo hasn’t either.

You may recall that she mentioned those who have her “motherf* name in their motherf* mouth” just last year, in response to Kanye’s comments about her in a Tucker Carlson interview.
