With a last-second triumph over TikTok celebrity Ed Matthews, boxer Blueface has added another W to his collection.
On Saturday, April 22, the “Thotiana” rapper and a social media phenomenon squared off at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, England, as the rest of the world watched the Gervonta Davis-Ryan Garcia bout.
Blueface appeared to have an advantage right away since he kept hitting Matthews with punches. The British fighter gave way in the second round, obviously unable to endure the strikes.
Nevertheless, Matthews was able to make it to the fourth and final round. It was at this point that the battle was mercifully stopped in Matthews’ favor by the referee following a barrage of punches from Blueface.
“On G.O.D I was ready punch the ref he wouldn’t let me finish cuz,” the rapper said on Instagram to celebrate his triumph.

He mocked Matthews by adding in another post, “I placed my chain on the fight and @edmatthewss put his girl on the fight…The people waiting at the hotel send her [the clock emoji] and [the train emoji].

Here are some of the fight’s highlights.
Blueface’s girlfriend, Chrisean Rock, was humiliated by the social media sensation, which is why he entered the ring to fight Matthews in the first place.
The conflict that resulted in the matchup began in March when a TikToker criticized Chrisean Rock for being a “scatty as fuck,” which is slang meaning scruffy or empty-headed in the United Kingdom. Shortly later, Blueface learned about the video and declared he would confront the influencer to defend the mother of his unborn child and earn some cash.

Then, taking it a step further, he tweeted earlier this month that, despite not knowing Matthews, “it don’t even matter fr” and that he is confident in his ability to win.

Blueface, a 19-year-old influencer, seemed unfazed before to the bout despite his confidence. It would be a first-round knockout, according to Matthews, who told TMZ he has a “gameplan” for the bout. Trust me, I’ve already seen it, he said.
Matthews acknowledged that he is a fan of Blueface and that whether or not the rapper is aware of him, he will eventually.
“It’s strange because I used to listen to his music, but I feel like he kind of faded away from the scene. He used to have some banging songs, but I haven’t heard any in a while. Fighting him is awkward and a little nostalgic,” Matthews remarked.
Blueface is not new to boxing. At the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 19 in July 2021, he made his ring debut.
