The Weeknd Responds To Critics Of TV Show The Idol

The Weeknd has addressed rumors regarding his upcoming television program, The Idol.

The singer-songwriter, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, portrays a self-help guru/leader of a contemporary cult in the new HBO drama. Lily-Rose Depp plays the budding popstar who develops a tangled relationship with the character.

The Canadian singer said he and Lily-Rose were able to be “vulnerable” on the set in a recent interview with Jeremy O. Harris for the latest issue of Interview magazine, despite accusations made earlier this year that the production had been plagued by issues.

On these initiatives, many people put in a lot of effort. When you folks approach me while I’m in my own world, I’m like, “Okay, cool.” I’m a mature boy. I can solve the problem. On June 4, HBO will air the series debut of The Idol, which also stars Troye Sivan, Eli Roth, Hari Nef, and Hank Azaria.
