In response to Kid Rock and Travis Tritt’s transphobic comments about trans activist Dylan Mulvaney joining forces with Anheuser-Busch to promote the company’s Easy Carry Contest, Howard Stern has spoken out.

The presenter remarked, “I thought there must be a piece of this story that I’m missing,” on his Monday, April 10, SiriusXM radio program. “Gay and transgender persons don’t disturb me. They have no effect on me and do not negatively affect me. I adore seeing couples together. You desire to be a woman. Be a lady. If you want to be a dude, do it. Be whoever the f— you want to be. I’m on your side as long as you don’t hurt anyone.

A week after Rock shared a video sporting a white MAGA hat on social media, Stern offers his opinions. He said, “Grandpa’s feeling a little frisky today,” and added that he wanted to be as “clear and concise” as he could be. After that, he fired three cases of Bud Light with a semi-automatic weapon while yelling at the camera, “F— Bud Light, and f— Anheuser-Busch.”

The announcement that Tritt would no longer be working with Anheuser-Busch and that he would be eliminating all of the company’s goods from his tour hospitality rider were made in a series of tweets. “I know many other artists who are doing the same,” the singer alleged.

I wished I could phone Kid Rock and ask him to appear on the program and simply explain his agitation. How does it hurt? I don’t see why he became so irate, Stern continued. “I recognize Kid Rock. He leads a wonderful life. He changed from being a Michigan kid to becoming a rock star! Why someone would care so much that they would blow up a can of Bud Light and scream, “F— Anheuser-Busch,” astounds me so much. I don’t understand.

Rock is “flamboyant in his own way,” according to Stern, who noted that the singer frequently wears “a feather boa, maybe a mink coat” to his show when he appears as a guest. “I feel Kid Rock, his songs are all about living life the way you want, ‘I’m doing my thing man and f— you if you’re not with me,” he stated before shifting his attention to Tritt. ‘Other musicians who are deleting Anheuser-Busch goods from their hospitality rider would not say so in public for fear of being mocked and canceled,’ Travis Tritt said in a statement. I don’t feel that fear. I want to speak with the man. I’m asking myself, “Why do you care so much? “

A spokeswoman for Anheuser-Busch claimed in a statement provided to Billboard following the uproar that the company “works with hundreds of influencers across our brands as one of many ways to truly connect with consumers across various demographics. We occasionally create distinctive commemorative cans for customers and brand influencers like Dylan Mulvaney. This commemorative can was given as a gift to mark a special occasion; it cannot be purchased by the general public.
