Prior To His Death, Eazy-E Recorded Unreleased Songs With Guns N' Roses

Eazy-E apparently made a number of recordings before he his away in 1995; these are said to include songs with the venerable rock band Guns N’ Roses that are still thought to exist.

At a listening session for the release of Lil Eazy-E and Daz Dillinger’s new album The Legacy, Arnold “Bigg A” White, the CEO of Rich & Ruthless Records and a boyhood friend of Eazy-E, spoke with Rock The Bells about the recently discovered collaborations.

Bigg A told the publication that there was still unreleased songs available. “He had two, three, or four reels in his car when he went to the hospital, that much is certain. Those reels were not found. White claims that the Guns N’ Roses and other songs by the rap icon’s master recordings were once found in Canada, but he has no idea of their present whereabouts.

“He had songs with Guns n’ Roses on those reels, including Slash from Guns n’ Roses. Because they ended up in Canada, those reels have been located. I’m not sure what happened to them since, but that’s a whole other tale.

Bigg A also mentioned that DJ Yella is thought to be in possession of Eazy-E’s unreleased music, even though he is unsure if the West Coast icon’s estate possesses the reels in issue. Additionally, he claims that it’s possible that Dr. Dre was unaware of unreleased compositions by his late groupmate and rival.

“I don’t know if the estate got them, but there’s unreleased music, and Yella has some. I know for a fact that there’s some unreleased acapella vocals. That and the fact that he was working on some records with a couple of producers I worked with, and the last I heard, they were up in Dre’s studio.”

Eazy-E, who was diagnosed with AIDS just weeks before he died, passed unexpectedly on March 26, 1995, at the age of 30, as a result of complications from the disease. There have been rumors about the puzzling circumstances of his passing; his daughter looked into them in a docuseries that was published in 2021.

The founding member of N.W.A. and Ruthless Records contributed to every N.W.A. album, and in 1988 he released his debut solo album, Eazy-Duz-It, which peaked at No. 41 on the Billboard 200 at the time and produced the hit songs “We Want Eazy” and “Boyz-n-the-Hood (Remix).”

Eazy’s second studio album, Str8 off tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton, was released by Ruthless Records in 1996. On the seventh anniversary of his transformation, the Impact of a Legend EP followed in 2002.

The Legacy, a collaborative album by Daz Dillinger and Lil Eazy-E, was released in March and features guest appearances from Kid Capri, Kokane, RBX, Baby Eazy-E, and other artists.
