Pink Floyd make a comeback to the Top 5 this week as they commemorate the 50th anniversary of their groundbreaking prog-rock masterpiece Dark Side of the Moon. The Dark Side of the Moon – Live at Wembley 1974 debuts on vinyl at Number 3, while the 1973 studio album’s initial release of The Dark Side of the Moon – 50 Years rises to Number 17. When the record last charted in the Top 20, in October 2011, it had been almost 12 years.
Luke Combs, a country performer and songwriter who was born in North Carolina, completes the brand-new Top 5. He achieves a UK career-best placing with his fourth solo album Gettin’ Old, the follow-up to 2022’s Growin’ Up. (5).
The fictional band Daisy Jones & the Six, which stars Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, and Suki Waterhouse, reaches a new peak with Aurora, rising 14 spots, as viewers continue to appreciate the Amazon Prime Video adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s best-selling book Daisy Jones & the Six. (26).
A 50th anniversary reissue of Elton John’s Honky Chateau sees it return to the Top 40 for the first time in five decades, at Number 33, while Japanese kawaii metal band BABYMETAL celebrates their third UK Top 40 LP with THE OTHER ONE. When the record was first released in 1972, it peaked at position two.
Katie Melua, a Georgian-British singer-songwriter, gets her 11th UK Top 40 album this week with Love & Money. (35).
