Ariana DeBose and current studio good luck charm Alan Tudyk are lending their voices to Disney Feature Animation’s original fantasy feature Wish, which was first teased at the D23 event last year. With the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves, Chris Pine, who is no stranger to the fantastical world, is now joining them.
According to the official synopsis, the all-new tale of Wish is set in the magical kingdom of Rosas, where Asha (DeBose), a pessimist with a quick wit and a heartfelt concern for her community, makes a wish when she is in need. A small ball of limitless energy named Star, a cosmic power, responds to Asha’s cries. To save her community, they will take on the most formidable enemies together, demonstrating that amazing things can happen when one brave person joins forces with the power of the stars.

Valentino, the pajama-clad goat sidekick of Asha, is played by Tudyk; as of yet, Pine’s part is unclear. Wish is a musical starring Julia Michaels tunes, directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn, and written by Buck and Jennifer Lee. This year’s release date for the film is scheduled for November 24.
