The Title Of Quentin Tarantino's Final Film Has Been Revealed

According to reports, Quentin Tarantino is about to start making The Movie Critic, his last movie.

The filmmaker of Pulp Fiction is getting ready to helm the movie this fall, according to sources at The Hollywood Reporter.

The story is reportedly set in the late 1970s and has a female protagonist at its center, though the plot of the movie is currently being kept a secret.

Although it hasn’t been verified, that description raises the possibility that the movie will center on Pauline Kael, one of the most significant film critics in history. Kael, who contributed to The New Yorker between 1968 and 1991, was well known for her frank and vehement evaluations and frequently engaged in heated debates with editors and movie producers.

She very briefly served as an adviser for Paramount in the late 1970s. The timing of that work would match the scene in the script, and Tarantino is known to be a fan of the author.

The Hollywood Reporter has also been informed by sources that Sony, who distributed Tarantino’s Oscar-winning Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, may decide to publish this movie.

After finishing his tenth movie, Tarantino has long said, he would stop producing movies. The filmmaker has so far produced nine movies (if you count both Kill Bill volumes as one).

He made the comment while appearing on Real Time with Bill Maher in 2021. “I know cinema history and from here on, filmmakers do not get better,” he said. What a fitting final picture for Don Siegel if he had retired in 1979 when he starred in Escape from Alcatraz! A real mic plummet. He doesn’t intend it, though, as he dribbles off with two more.

In the past, Tarantino has also asserted that most filmmakers produce “awful last films” and that he might have been better off calling it a day after Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

The director said, “To truly end your career on a decent movie is rare,” in a 2021 interview with Elric Kane and Brian Saur for the Pure Cinema Podcast. It’s kind of phenomenal to end it with an excellent movie.

He added that Once Upon A Time In Hollywood would be a good place to cap off his career. “Perhaps I shouldn’t make another movie because I could be really content with dropping the mic,” he said.
