Spike Lee, Denzel Washington Skip 2023 Oscars For Knicks-Lakers Game

Instead of being pushed about the 2023 Oscars, Spike Lee and Denzel Washington attended the New York Knicks-Los Angeles Lakers game.

The Knicks and Lakers met on Sunday, March 12, at Crypto.com Arena, which is close to the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, where the biggest names in cinema gathered for the 2019 Academy Awards.

Lee, 65, and Washington, 68, were seen cheering on the Knickerbockers as they battled the purple and gold on the floor, demonstrating that they had no trouble choosing between the two events.

Along with these Academy Award triumphs, Rihanna performed “Lift Me Up,” the song for which she was nominated while paying tribute to the late, great Chadwick Boseman.
