Ashton Kutcher Explains Why Reese Witherspoon's Red Carpet Photos Are Awkward

Ashton Kutcher is merely attempting to snap a photo with his pal! The Your Place or Mine actor was recently questioned about the now-viral images of him and co-star Reese Witherspoon taken at the movie premiere during an interview on the Chicks in the Office podcast.

The co-stars of the Netflix romantic comedy appear “awkward” in the pictures that were shot at the premiere, according to the internet and his wife, Mila Kunis.

“My wife just called. She sent me and Reese a text message. Guys, you’ve got to act like you like each other, she says. Regarding the photos from the carpet that show him and Witherspoon standing side by side with no contact at all, he stated, “And I’m like, ‘What’s going on?'”

“What would happen is that I would start an affair with her if I placed my arm around her and acted all friendly with her. I’m having an affair with her, the rumor goes, “The actor, 45, stated.

“If I stand next to her, I’ll put my hands in my pockets to eliminate the possibility that the rumor—that is, the rumor that we don’t get along—might be true. I am pretty close with Reese. We’re quite near. I don’t need to argue that point. I’m not required to defend it.”

Kutcher said that he was only there to capture the event because of the several cameras flashing and paparazzi yelling around him. He is okay with the fact that there will be one uncomfortable photo as a result of everything.

“You’re better than I am if you can promise me that over the entire 20-minute period, you won’t have an odd expression on. And I don’t mind that,” he added.

Witherspoon acknowledged on Monday that Kunis had emailed her and Kutcher about the humorous incident.

On Today With Hoda & Jenna, Witherspoon stated, “She even emailed us yesterday night.” “”You guys look so weird on the red carpet together,” she remarks. Because I’ve loved her for so long, getting to meet her boyfriend was just fun because you get to know your girlfriend so well.”

After knowing each other for ten years, Witherspoon, who is married to Jim Toth, and Kutcher portray friends who decide to get closer in the movie. Kutcher talked to ET last month on getting the chance to finally work with Witherspoon.

What was interesting was that I had been thinking, “Oh man, I’d love to do a romantic comedy with Reese,” for years and years and years. Before admitting that he received a call about the project one day and before he even read the screenplay, Kutcher told ET, “Let’s stop everything, I said. I am doing it.”
