On Thursday, several persons were hurt during a shooting on the set of French Montana and Rob49’s next song video.
The rappers had been filming in the parking lot of The Licking eatery, and the Miami Gardens Police Department confirmed to CBS4 that “several persons” had been shot there.
The health of at least four patients who needed to be airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment is uncertain.
Uncertainty surrounds whether the “Unforgettable” rapper was struck, but a witness claimed it appeared his security successfully removed him from the firing line.
Reps for Rob49, 38, and French Montana did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Assault rifle-like gunfire was heard, according to witness Ced Mogul, who had come to the restaurant to watch Montana record the video.
According to Mogul, there were 10 to 15 gunshots, and everyone on the set quickly started to disperse.
People began to run when they heard gunshots, some of them had blood on their shirts and some of whom were sobbing on the ground, according to Mogul. It’s simply tragic,
Mogul also said to News7 Miami that after initially starting to run, he changed his mind and chose to duck and cover.
“I started running and looked back, but I thought, “You know what? Let me just duck for a while, and after that, you know, people started asking me, “Can you help me?,” he remembered.
“When I saw individuals calling out for assistance, I realized there was nothing you could do when you were shot.”
According to a law enforcement source who spoke to CBS4, detectives would review several videos shared on social media as well as security footage from adjacent businesses.
The shooting, according to the police, was an isolated occurrence. It’s unclear if anyone has been brought into custody just yet.
