Police sources told The Post that a female intruder was seen early on Monday breaking into Robert De Niro’s Upper East Side townhouse and taking Christmas presents from under the actor’s tree while also toying with his iPad.

Shanice Aviles, 30, a “known burglar,” broke into the “The Irishman” actor’s house around 2:30 in the morning.

Before Aviles entered De Niro’s house, members of the NYPD’s 19th Precinct public safety squad had seen her attempting to open doors of commercial buildings.

There was no interaction between the actor and the burglar, a police officer told The Post, adding that “she was stealing Christmas presents.”

According to sources, the 79-year-old “Casino” actor and his daughter were upstairs and were not aware of what was happening. Earlier in the morning, charges were pending when police arrested Aviles, who has been detained 26 times overall.

According to our sources, Aviles started her crimes, the most of which are burglaries, during the coronavirus pandemic. She was apprehended for seven burglaries that occurred on the Upper East Side between November 25 and December 8, they stated.

De Niro, a lifelong New Yorker, sold his 37-year-old West Village apartment for $9.5 million in 2012. The “Goodfellas” actor moved to his home in upstate New York at the height of the outbreak.

At the time, De Niro, who was raised in Manhattan, was represented by Caroline Krauss, who stated, “He expects to stay in Gardiner for the foreseeable future.” He is, after all, 76 and falls under the COVID-19 category of hazardous individuals.
