According to Kanye West, Quentin Tarantino plagiarized the plot of Django Unchained from an idea he had for the “Gold Digger” music video the Donda rapper had created. Ye clarified his assertion in a conversation with Piers Morgan.

The idea for “Django,” which I proposed to Jamie Foxx and Quentin Tarantino as the video for “Gold Digger,” came from me, West claimed. “Tarantino can make a movie about slavery where – actually him and Jamie, they got the idea from me,” West stated. Then Tarantino made it into a movie.

Jamie Foxx, who starred in the film Django Unchained, makes a vocal performance on Kanye West’s song “Gold Digger.”

While “Gold Digger” debuted in 2005, Django Unchained was released in 2012. Foxx plays a liberated slave who joins forces with a bounty hunter to free his wife from slavery in the movie.

Whether or whether West thinks the inspiration for Django Unchained was appropriated from him, he doesn’t hold actor Jamie Foxx, whom he recently referred to as one of the “biggest minds” in the entertainment business, accountable.

When asked who should play him in a biopic, he responded in a now-deleted Instagram post, “My selection is Jamie Foxx.” “One of the most brilliant minds.”
