Tim Allen has commented on the debate over Chris Evan’s performance as Buzz Lightyear in the upcoming prequel film Lightyear.
In an interview with Extra, the actor who provided the voice of the fictitious space explorer in the most well-known Pixar movies broke his silence about the new endeavor.
The simple response is that I’ve avoided this since it has nothing to do with my Buzz Lightyear, Allen said.

“It’s a wonderful story,” the actor said of Lightyear. “It just doesn’t seem to have any connection to the toy, and it’s a little…I don’t know. It just has no relationship to Buzz. It’s just no connection. I wish there was a better connection.”
By remarking, “We talked about this many years ago,” Tim Allen also indicated that he was contacted for the movie many years ago. In one of the sessions, it was brought up. What a fun movie that would be, I remarked.
“This is a brand new team that really had nothing to do with the first movies,” he continued.
“Tom Hanks and I are here. Without Woody, Buzz from Toy Story really doesn’t exist.
According to reports, 14 nations have outlawed the movie Lightyear because it contains a scene with a same-sex kiss.
After Pixar animators published an open letter criticizing Disney for suppressing “overtly gay passion” in its movies, Disney decided to restore the scene showing a lesbian space ranger named Alisha and her partner exchanging a quick kiss.
As a result, according to Reuters, the movie won’t be shown in theaters in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Egypt, Malaysia, and more. Disney has not yet responded.
